Katy and Jakob’s wedding at Wood Hall Hotel and Spa this past Thursday was a perfect example of why I love what I do. The venue itself is stunning, with that classic, grand feel that always makes for a great backdrop. The morning started off with so many smiles; Katy was getting ready with her bridesmaids and mum in the bridal suite, while Jakob was with his two groomsmen. Katy has this incredible aura and energy—she’s one of those brides who is so relaxed that it makes everyone else feel at ease from the very start.
The ceremony was beautiful, but the weather decided to test us with stop-start rain and some pretty gusty winds. We pivoted and moved the family photos inside, which was no problem at all given how gorgeous the interior is. The speeches were a massive highlight, especially Katy’s mum, who brought along props and gifts that had the whole room laughing. Luckily, the clouds cleared just in time for golden hour, and we managed to sneak onto the grounds for some gorgeous couple photos in the sun. The day ended with everyone hitting the dance floor to celebrate a truly great couple.
