Sandburn Hall Wedding Photography | Sophie and James

Sophie and James’s big day at Sandburn Hall in York was proof that even if the weather doesn't totally play ball, you can still have the most incredible wedding. The venue looked amazing as always—those huge windows and rustic beams are a photographer's dream. We kept things cozy and did the family photos inside, which worked out perfectly because it meant Sophie’s dog, Winnie, could join the frame as the most important special guest! The morning was a total breeze with Sophie and her bridesmaids, but the real tear-jerker was the emotional first look with her dad right before a stunning ceremony.
Everything ran like clockwork, and we even managed to sneak out after dinner for some couple portraits when a hint of golden hour decided to show up. The party energy was on another level; Sophie and James opened the floor with their first dance, but the absolute showstopper was Sophie’s outfit change. She swapped into a second bridal dress and made a grand re-entry with her bridesmaids dancing to ABBA’s Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!—the room went wild. We finished the night with a massive sparkler tunnel before I left them to dance the night away. Honestly, it was such a pleasure to be part of this one.
