The Oakwood at Ryther Wedding Photography– Ciara & Sam’s Family-Filled Day with Tears, Dancefloors and a Girls’ Bathroom Rave

Ciara & Sam’s wedding at The Oakwood at Ryther was the kind of day that stayed with you – not because of the weather (which, let’s be honest, did its best to cause chaos), but because of how full of love it was from the very start.

Ciara’s an only child, and you could really feel the bond she shares with her mum and dad. From the second I arrived, emotions were already running high – happy tears, nervous hugs, tissues being passed around left, right and centre. And Sam? Let’s just say he didn’t stand a chance the second he saw her walking down the aisle. I was holding back tears behind the camera too.

Even though the rain came down pretty solidly for most of the day, The Oakwood is one of those dream venues that just works, whatever the weather. We made the most of the beautiful indoor spaces for the family photos, and honestly, it all felt calm and easy.

Later in the evening, when the skies finally cleared, we snuck out for some couple portraits just before the dancefloor opened. Then it was straight into a gorgeous first dance, followed by one of the most emotional father-daughter dances I’ve ever seen – complete with her dad singing over the instrumental track, which just tipped everyone over the edge in the best way.

Oh, and I can’t not mention the secret girls’ bathroom rave that kicked off with Ciara and her bridesmaids after the formalities were done. What a day!
