The Ashes Barns Wedding – Charlotte & George’s Laid-Back Day with a Boat Ride and a Dog Ring Bearer

This was my first time shooting at The Ashes Barns and honestly... I’m already counting down the days until I’m back. It’s got that perfect mix of rustic barn charm, dreamy views and a team that has the whole day running like clockwork. And Charlotte & George’s wedding? What a way to experience it for the first time.

The morning was really relaxed, with me tucked away in the cottage with Charlotte and her bridesmaids while they got ready. My lovely second shooter Melissa was with George and the lads for groom prep, and between us we captured all the little in-between moments that made the start of the day feel so special.

The ceremony was lovely and low-key, with their gorgeous dog stealing the show as ring bearer (as it should be). Afterwards, it was cocktails, chats and some proper good weather — sunny, but not too hot, which is the dream. One of the highlights had to be Charlotte & George heading off for a little boat ride on the venue’s lake while we captured some golden photos from the edge. It felt like something out of a film.

The speeches were fab, with George's getting everyone cheering and properly belly laughing. Then the band kicked off the evening and the dancing began, but not before we nipped out for a few more portraits down by the water as the sun dipped behind the trees.
