One of my favourite things to experience at a wedding is watching the bride and groom really realise how much their life has just changed. Normally when this happens, there are tears and a few minutes of just being in awe of what just happened. For Laura and Jack, this moment happened at different moments. Jack's moment was as he entered the ceremony room for the first time and was greeted by the faces of all of his family and friends. Laura 's was when she wiped away tears after the registrar pronounced them man and wife, and they signed their certificate. They were just SO happy… and they should be.
We ventured off to Redcar beach to capture some epic portraits, but the stormy weather had other ideas. Nonetheless, Laura and Jack were such troopers, still going ahead and attempting some photos- and I'm so glad we did because we ended up with some epic photos and hilarious memories in the wind and rain. We did have another chance to capture some couple portraits on a bridge, with an epic smokebomb, just before their reception at the Riverside Lounge.
The Riverside Lounge is a remarkable grade 2 listed building known as Castlegate Mill, which is an old historic mill that has been re-done into an event space. It's cosy, relaxed feel was a perfect choice by Laura and Jack- as it suited their relaxed, easy going wedding day. The exposed brick and flower wall were my favourite parts. I loved how the rows of tables softened the industrial vibe of the room and the bistro lighting was the perfect way to make it feel extra inviting.
I really enjoyed Laura and Jack's day. They are the sweetest duo. I felt so honoured that I was the one who had the opportunity to capture their day for their family and friends to remember forever!! Enjoy some of my favourite images for their Wedding Photography Sneak Peaks!
