Deepika + Joshua | Maiyan and Sangeet Wedding Celebrations | Part 1

I just feel like I need to say…. prepare yourself. Prepare yourself for some of the most gorgeously styled colours I’ve ever photographed. Prepare yourself for fun portraits and the sweetest ceremony and lastly, prepare yourself for some serious JOY!!

These two know how to style and throw a party (or two… or three!) but what they are true experts in is creating an atmosphere of pure joy with their family and friends. Deepika and Josh are the type of people that you spend time with and walk away saying “They are JUST THE SWEETEST”. It’s true. They radiate joy and happiness and it’s so much fun to be in their presence.

Their wedding celebration started Friday this week. I drove up to them and photographed their intimate Maiyan Ceremony on the Friday morning, and then their Sangeet later that same day. The colours, the details, the thought that went into it all…. it was just so impressive. Your families helped you out so much with the preparations, and the hard work paid off! They helped you create a beautifully styled wedding celebration, where nothing strayed from the theme, while also having a truly meaningful and joyful celebration as well. That is HARD to do. It’s hard to make it visually perfect but also sentimental, and focused on your commitment to one another…. but you all made it happen! It was absolutely perfect. What an honour it was to capture it all for you!!!!

Friends, this is only part 1. Part 2 will be released later this week, as the celebrations did not end there. Stay tuned to see what's to come. Joshua and Deepika, you are the epitome of a dream couple and I’m just so humbled that I got to capture this for you!!! Enjoy reliving your amazing wedding days!!!

A Mayian Ceremony is a traditional ceremony taking place a few days prior to your wedding. This ceremony consists of friends and family rubbing a paste on the bride and groom; the traditional meaning of Maiyan is to cleanse the skin and create a glow!

That was just the beginning before midday! Guys, I have so much more to show you from that morning, but they will just have to wait.

Here is the second part of the day, the Sangeet. This is a celebration held before a wedding ceremony for the bride-to-be and her female friends and relatives.

Again, thank you so much for letting me be part of your day. It was truly an honour and I would do it again it a heartbeat. I cannot wait for you to see the rest. Stay happy, stay strong and stay madly in love x
