When Sam and Heather chose Burtonfields Hall in York for their wedding, I knew it was going to be an incredible day. As their wedding photographer alongside my second (my husband Alistair), I was beyond excited to capture the magic of their special day in such a stunning venue.
From the moment I met Sam and Heather, it was clear they were an amazing couple. Their love for each other was palpable, and their down-to-earth nature made them a joy to be around. The wedding day reflected their personalities perfectly – it was fun, full of laughter, and had just the right amount of emotional moments.
Burtonfields Hall was the perfect backdrop, with its beautiful architecture and lush, expansive grounds. The day started with a heartfelt ceremony, where there were some tears of joy, but it quickly transitioned into a celebration filled with laughter and good times. Sam and Heather, along with their guests, were so much fun to photograph – their genuine smiles and interactions made my job easy.
One of the standout moments of the day was the Musical Bingo session led by Lily Kerbey music during the downtime. It was such a unique and entertaining touch that had everyone laughing and enjoying themselves. As the evening approached, we took advantage of the golden hour for a stunning photoshoot on the grounds. The soft, warm light was perfect and added a magical touch to the photos.
The night ended with everyone dancing and celebrating under the stars, perfectly capping off a day that was truly special. Being part of Sam and Heather’s wedding was an absolute honor, and I’m thrilled to share the moments we captured together.
