An Intimate Micro Wedding in the Gardens

Emma & Ian had made plans for a larger scale wedding, but their plans came to a halt once lockdown restrictions were imposed. Despite this, they decided that their day wasn't going to be stopped by Covid, and so they celebrated each other in the Botanical Gardens, with just their two sons and their best man. We were lucky enough to capture this micro wedding.

Here are our favourites from their day-

Testimonial from Emma & Ian

"We have just received our wedding photos and are lost for words. Gabriela captured the day perfectly and you can feel and see each emotion we felt on each one.
Due to Covid we had already postponed our date 3 times so decided enough was enough and chose a micro wedding until we can celebrate when it’s safe to do so. Gabriela was asked with 1 days notice and accepted straight away. For a bride ready to throw in the towel she made our day complete and we have truly wonderful memories to look back on. We felt so comfortable having the photos taken which is a massive achievement as stiff as a board springs to mind to describe us.
We have absolutely no hesitatation recommending Gabriela and we will be forever grateful for her skill, talent and amazing manner".

It was lovely being able to really experience this family day- their love and excitement overpowered this intimate scene, and it truly felt like a wedding day. It just goes to show that in the end, all you need is a little bit of love, humour, and those nearest and dearest to you to start your marriage.

After this ceremony, held by the best man (who was told the morning of might I add), we went off to take some couple shots of this gorgeous happy duo. Emma's eyes were captivating and we couldn't help but make sure we got enough photos of them!

When I asked Emma if she had any particular photos she would like to capture, she laughed and said: "yes... a photo of us both swearing at coronavirus!" In all good humour, this couple was NOT going to let covid ruin their fun- and such a hilarious detail adds a unique story to these photos, which they will be able to laugh at for years to come. Got a quirky request? Let's do it!

Emma joked that she has had to have this jacket altered TWICE, with new dates for her wedding. Finally, she got the wedding she wanted with the jacket to match.

Throughout the session, Emma joked that Ian and his best man were super close, they might as well have gotten married to each other. So before I left, I made sure to capture this bromie duo in a classic bride and groom pose! Again- it helps tell the story of their day, and will be a great photo to look back on for years to come.
